Setting Up the Moodle App
The Moodle app for mobile devices allows access to Moodle classes in a layout design especially for smaller screens. The Mobile app allows students to (among other things):
- View courses and course content
- Send and view messages
- Upload files (audio, video, assignment files) from your mobile device to your courses
- Submit assignments
- Post in discussion forums
- Take quizzes
- View course calendars
- View course grades
To get started, download and install the official app, Moodle, from the Android or iOS app stores.
Once installed, open the app and click the "Scan QR code" button.
A window explaining how to find the QR code appears. If you have Moodle open on a secondary device, like a computer, you need to log in to Moodle on that device and navigate to your profile page within Moodle. That's where the QR code is. Tap the "Next" button in the Moodle app window.
Your phone will ask for camera access. Tap on "Allow." This should open your camera. Aim the camera at the QR code on the Moodle page open on your secondary device.
Once the code is accepted, you'll be taken to the login page for SCC's Moodle. Click "login with Google" and enter your SCC email login credentials. This process may take you to a mobile browser to log in and then back to Moodle's app once login is verified.
Once logged in, you'll be able to access all of your courses in Moodle! Keep in mind that you may not be able to complete all types of Moodle activities or view all Moodle resources within the app. Access to a computer to complete your coursework is still recommended.
If you don't have access to the site QR code, you can manually enter SCC's moodle web address Once installed, enter our official site into the site address field: https://shawcc.remote-learner.net. Then, tap "Connect to your site."
